Director of Library Services

I've been in and out of libraries since I was a kid. My local public library (LAPL Westwood) was a space of refuge where I could be myself, explore the world, and learn without limits. I went into music and spent a lot of time in the library to study, write, concentrate, or just find a quiet space. As I was exploring my future, I realized that librarianship was a path I could choose. I wanted to help people. So in order to confirm my future, I shadowed the Music Librarian, Antoinette Powell, while working at the reference desk. I loved the treasure hunt that was reference work and enjoyed really helping people. It was what confirmed my interest in Library Science and I have not regretted it since.
